Jerry Fuhriman
Jerry W. Fuhriman has been traveling with Sparky the Coyote and his desert critter friends for many, many years. The entire Coyote Cartoons Collection has been created solely by Jerry W. Fuhriman and has been fully authorized by Sparky the Coyote (cost $1.00 a year). Folks in restaurants bars, and yes, even residences throughout the world are smiling and laughing over the antics of Sparky and his desert critter friends. Psychiatrists and philosophers continue to search for the meaning of this timeless southwestern wall art…nobody seems to know the meaning ....but we always see a coyote smiling …..and that should give us all a bit of hope.
The mythically multi-faceted wily coyote perfectly personifies artist Jerry Fuhriman. He admits that after years of working as an environmental planner, interpretive specialist, silversmith, professional artist and educator, he's still "trying to figure out what he wants to do when he grows up."
Jerry is not only known for his cartoon art work, but also for his watercolor and oil paintings of the western landscape. Jerry's paintings are consistent award winners and have been featured in the Santa Fe/ Taos Collectors Guide and Southwest Art Magazine. Jerry's fine art paintings may be viewed at www.jerryfuhriman.com.
"Jerry Fuhriman's landscape paintings are rich with evocative shapes and wonderfully unexpected colors that awaken us to the beauty and fragility of our western country."
-- William Least Heat-Moon Author: Blue Highways Prairyerth
"Jerry Fuhriman's diversity is reflected in his watercolors and oils - one a close view of plunging, scarlet-tinged Dagger Canyon, the next a verdant landscape with a boundless, Turner-esque sky, another an almost surreal view of clouds rolling over red sandstone."
